"Up for auction is this great Soundcraft Ghost 32 channel 8 bus recording mixer / console. It had been in operation in a smoke free professional studio in Chicago and then barely used in my home studio for the past couple of years. It shows some wear along the cheeks from moving (see pics). All aspects of this console are fully functional and would make for a great mixer at any serious home studio or professional facility.
These consoles are well known for their amazing sonic capabilities and an incredible list of features for an unbeatable price. In terms of sound, features, and design, this is a huge step above the other options in the same price range out there made by Mackie, Behringer and other brands. This is not one of the newer LE versions, this is the full blown original design with the center section with machine control and CPU functions. With this center section, one can remotely control transports on recorders, create mute groups, store up to 128 snapshots of console mute status and recall them manually or remotely via MIDI program change messages. The MIDI implementation of the center section alone makes this a far superior console to others in its class.
Every channel features an ultra low noise mic preamp with 60 dBu input sensitivity with individually switched phantom power, a line input, a phase reverse switch a 100Hz low-cut filter, a 4 band semi-parametric EQ, 8 aux sends (4 mono and 2 stereo), Mix B section (with individual pan, level, mute and solo), channel pan, solo, mute 100mm faders and group assign switches for the 8 buses.
The control room section features 4 stereo effects returns each with solo and and routing capabilities, 2 separate studio foldback monitoring sections with solo, 2 frequency oscillator, talk back section with microphone, 8 aux send master pots with solo, 8 master bus faders with mute, solo and L/R routing, 100mm stereo master fader, mono check switch, control room volume knob, provisions for two external line inputs, and two sets of control room monitors."
