SSL 632 surround pre dub mixer – Ex Warner Bros Post
For sale an SL 632 48 input/8 channel surround pre dub mixer built by Solid State Logic in 1994.
A little history
Only 3 of these mixers were built at the specific request of Warner Bros Post Production. They were used to expand the functionality and routing of the SSL 4000/6000/8000G+ mixers on large film projects. The mixers were decommissioned from Warner Bros when they made the shift to the Neve DFC consoles and this particular unit made it’s way to the UK . As far as we've been able to ascertain the other two mixers remain in the US, one at Imperative Studios in Washington and one at Robot Lemon.As you can see from the pictures the mixer is in excellent condition and the channel cards are practically as new. We have spoken to SSL recently and they confirm they have a full set of the paperwork for it (manual and schematics) and can provide a copy of it for a fee.
The mixer comprises the following;

There is no PSU as we understand the mixer would have derived power from the host consoles supply. Having said that the voltages indicated on the backplane are fairly standard and there are a number of manufacturers in the UK who can build custom power supplies. As such, with a bit of know how it is likely the mixer could be up and running as a stand alone unit within a short period of time. Companies such as Pro-Serv Audio specialise in the refurbishment of SSL 4000 series consoles and would be ideal for the job.
Please note however that whilst we have every reason to believe the mixer is in full working order we have been unable to test it in either it’s original or a stand-alone configuration and therefore it is being sold ‘as is’.
