"MCI JH 528 Console. A rare opportunity to own a classic. Originally installed at Atlantic Studios in New York, it was then sold to an independent studio before going into storage. Very few were made in this configuration, and there aren't many left. PSU's were recently serviced and the board was used on a session before going into storage last year for a second time. Modules that are missing in first photo of console were out for repair."

THIS MIXER IS IN GOOD OVERALL CONDITION, BUT IT WILL NEED A LITTLE BIT OF WORK.

Yamaha PM1000 Discrete Inductor EQs Neve API Quad 8 US $2,500

"Up for sale is a fully restored Yamaha PM1000 16 channel fully discrete 4 buss console. It has been completely recapped with new Nichicon audio grade capacitors and the master section has been upgraded with new low-noise transistors. The small internal power supply has been replaced with a huge external Accopian regulated supply for the 44VDC voltage rails supplying tons of headroom. All the input channels utilize transformers for the mic/line inputs and inductors for the EQ section as was used in 1970's Quad Eight, Neve and many other discrete console designs of that era. According to Bob Ohlsson of Motown fame "John Windt who had previously worked for Quad Eight (and Motown in Detroit) played a big part in the design of the PM-1000." The PM1000 when fully restored sounds fantastic and on par with any vintage console - but unfortunately most are in poor shape and badly need new capacitors and an updated power supply. To my ears the preamps sound very similar to the design used on early Quad Eight and Langevin consoles - with slightly different coloration due to the transformers used.
Everything works perfectly - although some switches and knobs will need some occasional cleaning with deoxit as should be expected with any 1970's console. The headphone section was disabled when I upgraded the power supply (runs off of a 12V power supply instead of the 44V supply used for the rest of the console), but I can enable it if you need it or can include an outboard headphone amp with the sale (which I think sounds better than the internal headphone amp anyways). The headphone connector panel on the front of the console was dented at some point before it got to me, but otherwise the console is in great cosmetic condition with only minor scratches on the wood veneer. It's been in use as a tracking sidecar in my smoke-free studio.

It is full of transformers and great components.

Everything -- Everything works except 2 output faders, and I expect that is an easy fix and you will need to build a handrest.
I will crate it free with Buy It Now and could make a deal to deliver in the South East.
