With the M55k it is comaparable with a M50. If you combine it with a M7 cardioid capsule it is comparable with U47 and M49.

TELEFUNKEN ELA M 251 W/ VINTAGE AKG CK-12 BRASS CAPSULE $7,995

"Alas the day has come that I hoped would never come but it did.
I am getting out of the music recording business due to lack of business and other unrelated financial hardships. Already gone is my vintage 1073, V76s, Urei compressors and last but not least
my prized possession, my Telefunken Ela M 251 microphone. This is a reissue from back when they were called Telefunken USA. This mic has an interesting history, it started out as a Ela m 250
but after I had some more cash had Telefunken upgrade it to a 3 pattern 251. Back when I was in my gear jonesing phase I was acquiring all the top vintage pieces I could find. Through luck and
scouring through some old emails from Ebay I was able to track down a guy in Eastern Europe I previously contacted that had a few vintage AKG CK-12 capsules for sale. I took a chance, sent off a bank wire
and was happy to see 3 of these capsules show up about 6 weeks later. I sent the capsules to Telefunken and had them select the best sounding one which ended up in this mic. Toni said that according
to the serial numbers that this particular capsule came from an original 251. This capsule has the original skin and the capsule halves have never been separated. The guys at Telefunken also said that
this is one of the best sounding original CK-12 capsules they have heard. If you remember some years back Telefunken did acquire 50 of these capsules and released a limited number of mics
designated the 251 V for vintage. If memory serves me correctly I think these were going for 11-12K when they were available. This mic is essentially the same minus the larger power supply and fancy case
which is no big deal because we all know that 90% of the mic's sound comes from the capsule and this one sounds amazing! You can hear this mic on the vocal and acoustic guitar tracks at chadhagerman.com
and on the upcoming release by my band Dead Legend. Vocals and acoustic guitars were tracked with this mic. This mic has the 6072A tube. CK-12 Capsule serial numbers are 2517/2211 the diaphragm is original and the capsule halves have not been separated and is in excellent working condition.
This mic will blow away any new 251 hands down, unless it is one of the 50 251V's floating around out there."
