Im selling my original telefunken elam 251 e serial number 1069 with mild restoration.
Mic looks and sounds awesome. All electronic components are original inside the mic w the exeption of two caps(the silver ones) stephen paul audio decided to change out while servicing the mic recently, as well as a fresh 6072 tube. The ck12 is a original elam 251 ck12 that is in excellent condition and in my opinion sounds awesome that came from another one of my 251's. The body tube is a original telefunken elam 251 brass body tube that telefunken elektroakustik repainted with there original specs restoration paint. I replaced one piece of plastic inside the mic which you can see in the photos with telefunken elektroakustik ; its one of the two circular pieces that goes around the amp board etc. the amp board and plastic as well as all the electronics are original to the mic, minus the two things i disclosed above(cap and fresh 6072 tube). The capsule assembly pattern selector housing is telefunken elektroakustik reproduction parts, as its made to factory specs and is basically identical to the original minus the aging plastic and old switches; they really nailed the 251 restoration replacement parts as confirmed by every mic tech i know. The grill housing is also telefunken elektroakustik.
The power supply cover and base are original but decided to go with telefunkens psu inside, but put the old cover and base on it cause it looked cool; ill include there cover and base as well.. The swivel cable as well and mic box are telefunken elektroakustic. To summarize...all the accessories are from telefunken elektro; psu, mic cable and mic box, but i swapped out the original psu housing and base. "

"This is "the AKG Tube" microphone, that replaced the C12 and preceded the C12VR. It comes with all original manuals, metal briefcase, power supply, connection cables, windscreen and shock mount. Many think this mic sounds much closer to the venerable original C12 than the current VR. This mic was purchased from a professional studio recently for a studio project that just didn't come together. It sounds insanely smooth and rich. It was a/b 'd with a C12VR and blew it away. Also compared to several other mics, including aNeumann M149. It had more detail smoothness and "air" to it, not that I can put down the Neumann either. It has its own unique, rich tone as well. I cannot afford to keep it in it's case, unused, any longer. It is a luxury I can't afford. The capsule was replaced by the owner a couple of years ago. It is the made by AKG but I do not know the specific model."
