Auditronics 110B Racked pair of mic pres $875

"You're looking at a very sweet racked pair of vintage Auditronics 110B mic preamps in a new GruningAudioworks 3U case. The fresh rack job includes a new linear power supply, toroid transformer, Neutrik XLR I/O, and +48V phantom power. Most of the caps have been replaced and ICs replaced as needed so these should be rocking for years to come.
These things sound fantastic! If you're old enough to remember when FM radio played the "serious" versions of rock tunes and AM radio played "bubblegum" pop, you'll remember how those FM disc jockies' voices sounded big and thick and larger than life. These pres remind me of those days. They really are magic for thickening up wispy singers and almost make it sound as if a touch of compression is added. The EQ is very user friendly and is inductor based. This pair does not have the A-30 card for balanced output so is unbalanced out. There's a lot of mythology regarding the balanced/unbalanced issue. Frankly, unless you plan on very, very long cable runs it probably isn't going to make a whit's difference. I have a customer who owns two pairs of the 110s: one balanced out and one unbalanced. He swears he prefers the sound of the unbalanced pair. Go figure...
This is a genuine GruningAudioworks job and as such comes with user support should you need it in the future. Should anything go wrong with them, I will be available for consultation."

This auction is for the conversion of 1 (one) stock, working Ampex 601 module into a two channel microphone preamplifier. Just to be clear, this auction is for the modification service only, the item pictured is for reference only and is not for sale. The donor Ampex 601 unit and all input and/or output transformers must be provided by the buyer and shipped to me at their expense for me to complete the conversion. These modules are MADE TO ORDER, by hand, one at a time, and can take up to a month to build. Now , my modifications are very different than others you may find here on Ebay or around the web. I have also priced my conversions to be very competitive with other such services. Just to be clear this is no simple refresh or a copy of known mods. No, instead it is an original design of my own based on classic designs but not a clone of anything in particular. The modification is a COMPLETE reworking of this unit from the ground up. My process involves stripping the chassis bare, then ALL parts are: removed, cleaned, refurbished, rethought, and then finally reinstalled or replaced with new parts where applicable. In short, this is effectively a brand new unit with some vintage parts such as the chassis, transformers and meter incorporated. Think of it like a modern hot rod car! The modified Ampex 601 chassis, when my modification is complete, consists of two discrete, all-tube, high-voltage, high-gain, audio preamplifier circuits inside the single module with a shared tube power supply feeding both channels. This particular unit (pictured for reference only) has two Altec 4722 Input Transformers and two 2282 output transformers installed (the Altec 15095 transformer is also socket compatible with this design). These units can be wired to accept these Altec or original Ampex style octal plug-in transformers, whichever you prefer."

Up for grabs offered here is a vintage Neumann mixer/console with original PSU (serial number 001). The mixer was tested and works fine. It's over 45 years old however, so I can't give you any warranty. See detailed pictures below to verify.The mixer is located in central Europe, so shipping to the USA is not an option - only for parts (read below). See shipping rates below for EU bidders as well.
Please, note that the eight EQs modules pictured have already been sold separately and are no longer part of this auction! There is still eight fantastic Neumann preamps (PV46) present (which could be racked by a pro technician), an many other parts, which can be useful, including summing section with limiters and exceptional vintage Neumann parts, faders, etc. The PSU is build like a tank. You will not find anything like this today. There is some patching cables included (all original). See pictures to verify."
