All housed in a Shep built rack. All the Shep modules are in great condition. The Neve module
is also in very good condition but could use a recapping. These modules are the earlier version of the current
SN12. Of course if you are looking at this then you are well aware of the awesome sound of these modules,
with greater frequency ranges then the 1073 modules. All modules work great.

Vintage Neve 1073 Microphone Preamp MARINAIR 1st ISSUE US $4,675
You are bidding on a completely original VINTAGE (Not a Reissue) Neve 1073 Mic Preamp in excellent cosmetic condition and perfect working condition. This is the preamp used on so many classic recordings, and any engineer would want them in their rack. This preamp sound amazing with the big, warm Neve sound we know and love. This preamp was just completely reviewed and tested by an authorized Neve Service Shop and can put you in touch with the technician if you would like to ask any technical questions. This 1073 has the original MARINAIR sought out output transformer - 1st Issue. Serial Number 13829.
The 'pecking' order for Neve transformers would be:
1) Marinair -- these guys were the original supplier of these designs.
2) St.Ives -- these guys made electronically and cosmetically similar input devices in later discrete Neve gear, but I'm told by Geoff Tanner that St. Ives never made output transformers. Geoff also insists that as St. Ives was GIVEN the specs by Marinair when pressed to do so by Rupert (so he'd have another source of transformers), that Marinair engineers withheld some of the 'secrets' about their construction techniques, and that, as a result, there is some minor, but noticable difference in the sound between units of the same model from the different manufacturers. Most idealogs seem to vote for the Marinair's sound over St. Ives.
3) Carnhill -- these guys bought St. Ives Windings last decade (or so), and continue to make the input transformers to the same spec as St. Ives (I'm told), but the output transformers are apparently a result of reverse-engineering as St. Ives never made these for Neve.
