"Up for sale is this vintage early 1980s SONY PCM3324S 24-track 1/2" reel-to-reel digital tape recorder with remote control surface, cable snake, printed manual and a selection of reels with tape. This deck model was one of the earliest production models of digital tape recorders and was used early on by Frank Zappa and Stevie Wonder among many others. This fires up and all controls seem to work, however we have not tested everything and cannot guarantee this won't need some servicing. We know of one issue that will need to be addressed. The "brakes" that stop the reels from spinning when stop is pushed slip somewhat and don't completely stop the reels.

"OTARI RADAR I 24 Track digital random access digital recorder in good condition with the R-8 Session Controller (keyboard). In good cosmetic and operating condition. If you are reading this you know that these recorders are absolutely the top of the top of the line when it comes to digital recording and are renown for their great sound, an this one works fine. Very fair starting bid for this item. Just pulled from my working studio.
If you are not familiar with the RADAR system, then I encourage you to google, and read about them before you buy something else. These units are the best (closest thing to tape you will find). I know this because I have done the A/B test in my own studio many times with my Studer A-827.
The connecting cable for the controller is also included."
